Scholarship

Help us build a scholarship from St. Paul Central H.S. Class of 1970!

As many of you know, Gregory Janisch, our class president, died last Fall in a tragic way.  He was murdered by his son who had a history of mental health issues.

Greg was always fun to be with, played football, basketball and baseball at Central and was able to bring people together to get things done.  He helped get us together for the Class of 1969 – 40th reunion last year (they invited ’68 and ’70 classes to join them and Greg pretty much single-handedly got a lot of us there.) He had also contacted a few of us about planning this 40th reunion.

We want to create a scholarship through the St. Paul Central HS Foundation to honor Greg’s memory.  Central has a scholarship committee for foundation scholarships and students fill out an application.  Points are assigned and the committees decide who gets what, based on total points and/or matching of specific criteria.  Our intent is to have this scholarship go to a Central High School Senior who has overcome great obstacles in their life.

Since it is our 40th reunion, we’d like to suggest a check for $40 (or whatever you can share) from each person at this reunion.  Those who are unable to join us can also send donations.  The St. Paul Central HS Foundation is a non-profit group so any donation you make is tax-deductible.

Please help us make this scholarship a reality.

Make a separate check payable to the St. Paul Central High School Foundation and put Greg Janisch scholarship in the memo line.
